Coastal Path I

The gentle natural tones in this painting have been achieved by using Earth pigments that I have locally sourced near my home in Devon. They are beautiful to use and it is fascinating how subtle layers of colour can be achieved when used thinly. This piece has been embellished with gilding foils to capture the swirling light on the coastal path at Westward Ho! made famous by the book by Raynor Winn, ‘The Salt Path’.
This piece is part of a series of works based on this stretch of our Devon coast and is a pair to ‘Coastal Path II’ which I also have listed for sale.
Size, 20 x 20 cm unframed. Comes with white box frame.
